Freedom Sculpture

Lynnette created a sculpture called ‘Freedom’ in 2015 in response to Canterbury’s Marlowe Theatre’s request for artist submissions to support their production called ‘The Rights of Others’. After being on display in the Theatre’s Auditorium, it has since stood in the library of Canterbury Christ Church University.

Freedom, steel and cotton fabric, 45m x 2.5m x 2.5m Inspired by Percy Bysshe Shelley’s poem ‘The Masque of Anarchy’ written in 1819 about the events that took place at the Peterloo Massacre in Manchester.
